BusyTime
Terms of Use
Effective date:
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and MintSoft ("we", "us"), a software developer based in the Republic of Korea, and apply when you download, install or use the BusyTime Android app ("the App"). By using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
-
The service
BusyTime is a focus timer. While a session you start is running (or a session that starts at a busy calendar event, if you turn on automatic start), it uses Android's call screening to decline incoming calls and can send each declined caller one SMS reply that you wrote or chose. Features include reply templates and variables, emergency contacts, repeat callers ringing through, Unknown only, a no-reply list, routines, calendar prompts, a timer log, session summaries, callback reminders and focus statistics.
The App works on Android 10 or higher. We may change, add or remove features to improve the App or to follow Android or Google Play rules.
-
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, and able to enter into this agreement. If you are under the age of majority, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you.
-
Your responsibilities
- Missed calls: while a session is running, calls are declined except those your settings let through (emergency contacts, repeat callers within 3 minutes if that option is on, and saved contacts in Unknown only mode). You are responsible for setting these exceptions so that you stay reachable when it matters, including for emergencies.
- SMS replies: replies are sent from your phone number through your mobile carrier. Your carrier's normal SMS charges apply, and you are responsible for the content of the templates you write.
- Permissions: some features need Android permissions or the Call Screening role. If you do not grant them, or if your device maker or carrier limits them, those features may not work.
-
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the App to send unsolicited, abusive, misleading or illegal messages, or to harass anyone;
- use the App to intercept, monitor or record anyone's communications;
- reverse engineer, decompile or modify the App except where the law allows it;
- interfere with or bypass the App's security, purchase or licensing features;
- use the App in any way that breaks the law or Google Play's policies.
-
Free version and BusyTime Pro
The App is free to download and use. The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob, limits the number of templates and presets, and adds a short app name tag (for example "– via BusyTime") to the end of replies when the reply still fits in one SMS.
BusyTime Pro is a one-time in-app purchase through Google Play. It is not a subscription and does not renew. Pro removes ads and the reply tag and unlocks the Pro features described in the App at the time of purchase, for as long as the App is offered on Google Play, on devices signed in to the Google account used to buy it. The price is shown in Google Play before you buy and may vary by country.
Payments and refunds are handled by Google Play under its terms and refund policy. You can restore Pro on a new device with "Restore purchase". Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law.
-
Intellectual property
The App, including its code, design, text, graphics and the name and logo "BusyTime", belongs to MintSoft and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Android devices you own or control, under these Terms. Your templates and settings remain yours.
-
Third-party services
The App relies on Android, Google Play, Google AdMob, RevenueCat and Sentry. Their availability and behaviour are outside our control, and your use of them is also governed by their own terms. How data is handled is explained in our Privacy Policy.
-
Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every call will be declined or let through as expected on every device, Android version or carrier, or that every SMS reply will be delivered. Call screening and SMS depend on Android, your device maker and your carrier, which can change their behaviour at any time.
-
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, MintSoft is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for missed calls (including emergency calls), undelivered or delayed messages, carrier charges or lost data arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
-
Ending these Terms
You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. If you seriously breach these Terms, your licence to use the App ends. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as intellectual property, disclaimer, limitation of liability and governing law, continue after termination.
-
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date and, for significant changes, tell you in the App or in the Google Play release notes before they take effect. If you keep using the App after the change, the new Terms apply.
-
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be handled by the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring a claim in its courts.
